"Freedom is the dream you dream, While putting chains on thoughts again-" -Giacomo Leonardi
Romanticism was a reaction to the Enlightenment movement. The Enlightenment was about philosophers sharing bright ideas about freedom, and going with the “right” path. There was always a downgrading of power and reason coming from the Romantics. Romanticism came in as a topic of disagreement or confusion of the principles. The Romantics writers were more concerned about the individual than society in their writing. What triggered the end of Romanticism was the fact that many writers began to be lost in their own imaginations. The problems of the world started to be pushed aside, and people wanted a more direct, coarse, or crude type of literature, and the Romantic writers couldn't write that way. The Romantics didn't get straight to the point, the times were changing, and society moved on to other things that were most like a reaction of this time period.
